On court promotions ideas?

By Darius Murray posted 01-21-2017 20:44

Hello, everyone hope all is well,

Interning as Game Operations Assistant with Mc3 Sports and Entertainment group for the past year.  Dealing with the game day operation management for Johnson C. Smith University’s sports (Football & Basketball), MEAC Basketball Tournament (Norfolk, VA), and CIAA Basketball Tournament (Charlotte, NC). This season we focused more on crowd involvement during the stoppage in play (Time-Outs, Half-Time entertainment.…etc.).  With tournament season quickly approaching, we would like to incorporate new on court promotions ideas during our last few home game and leading into the tournaments. How do you get your crowd involved during the stoppage in play in your sport departments?

Hi Darius! As a grad student intern for California State University Bakersfield, we try to keep our crowd involved as much as possible during games. A few popular promos we do include inflatable bowling with the use of a basketball as the bowling ball, a hopper ball race and a sort of relay race using various items such as hula hoops, dizzy bat activity, with a lay-up at the end. Hopefully this helps you.
