Calling All NACMA Young Professionals #NACMA17

Plan to join your fellow NACMA Young Professionals in Orlando this June and want a great way to kick off NACMA 2017?  Attend this year’s Young Professionals Workshop on Monday, June 12th starting at 7:30 am.  The YP Workshop is a wonderful platform to make new connections with colleagues that will last a lifetime.

The definition of “young professional” is truly vague in NACMA terms as it relates to position and title.  Some might think that just because they do not hold an Intern/GA, Assistant or Assistant Director title they technically are not considered a “young professional”.  However, this workshop is action packed with an all-star panel lineup to assist those who have less than 3 years’ experience in the industry.  All young professionals are welcome to attend the YP Workshop.

There is a small registration fee of $75 and you must register to attend when submitting your registration for NACMA 2017.  If you have already registered and did not register for the YP Workshop, please email Hannah Mordica (hmordica@nacda.com) at the NACDA office to be placed on the attendee list.  Please remember early bird registration for convention ends on Wednesday, May 17th.

The Young Professionals Workshop is broken out into different panels and interactive segments, beginning with a networking continental breakfast meet and greet.  Following the networking breakfast, we will dive right in to a question and answer session featuring three current Director of Athletics.  Overall, this workshop is set to address different areas that touch young professionals in this industry.  You will gain insight on getting out of your comfort zone, how to network, working with others, as well as ways to develop and manage your brand.

Our goal is that you will walk away able to map out your week and learn tricks on changing the perception of being just an “expert t-shirt roller”.  Learn new ideas on how to shape and tell your story in a unique and authentic way.  You will receive advice on how to reach your desired goal within college athletics, whether it’s the path to the Assistant Athletics Director chair or to another leadership position.  Another focus will be on how to set yourself apart from others and show what you can bring to the table as a young professional.  Our hope at the end of this workshop is to take away new ideas that will help you grow as an individual, reaffirming that you are on the right path within this amazing industry.

For more information and the full agenda, please visit the NACMA Young Professionals Workshop agenda online at NACMA.com.  On behalf of the entire NACMA Young Professionals Committee, we look forward to seeing you in Orlando starting Monday, June 12th.
