The NACMA Professional Development Mentoring Program is aimed to help individuals at various stages in their career path, including students, post-graduate students, young professionals or individuals seeking new opportunities.  Please note, the goal of the Professional Development Mentoring program is to match individuals with professionals that have previous experience and are in the most likely career succession position in order to best maximize the mentoring relationship (i.e. an Assistant Director of Marketing should seek a Director of Marketing as a mentor, a Director of Marketing should seek an Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing as a mentor, etc.).

Participants are encouraged to communicate at least once per month, however, you can set up a frequency and method of communication that is most comfortable and adequate for the both of you, as well as the type of relationship you desire, whether that’s formal or more informal.  The hope is that all participants will establish a tremendous relationship with their mentor/mentee throughout the year, speaking and connecting on topics most relevant or desirable, such as topics you may want to learn more about, perhaps the fan experience, building relationships, advertising and media buying, or topics that you are interested in to progress your career such as managing a budget, personnel management or sport oversight.
