Bio

I decided to pursue a career in college athletics during my sophomore/junior year in college. I had always loved playing and following sports and after starting my first sports related internship as a sports marketing intern at Michigan, I knew it was the industry I wanted to be in.

While I haven't been in the industry that long my experiences at a Big Ten school, an FCS school and a mid-major school have allowed me to work in different areas and be exposed to opportunities I would not have had if I'd stayed at a large school.

At Utah State, I'm the lead marketing person for XC/TF, Women's Basketball, Golf, Mens & Women's Tennis, in charge of campus marketing, kid's club & our intern program. I also work game ops/promotions for Volleyball, Soccer, Football, Men's Basketball, Gymnastics & Softball.

While I was at McNeese State, I was in charge of our kids club, local school reading program and marketing graphics/social media presence. I also worked ticketing on a daily basis and game day for baseball & softball, including the Southland Conference tournament. I worked game ops/promotions for volleyball and soccer. For football I was the video board and music coordinator. During basketball season, I gained experience as the replay official.

During my two years of interning for Michigan I worked every sport except Golf, Tennis, XC and Track. I was part of the intern team who was responsible for setting a new student attendance record at a women's basketball game, where we were responsible for creating a single game marketing plan based on a provided budget. My senior year I worked the entire field hockey, women's basketball and women's lacrosse season.

I enjoy learning & networking with others in the industry, which is why I started the #YPSportsChat on twitter. It's a weekly twitter chat for young professionals in the industry to discuss a variety of topics, depending on the week.
