Tyler Jones is currently in his 2nd year as the Assistant Athletics Director for Fan Engagement and 5th year overall at The Ohio State University. Tyler provides overall leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for the Fan Experience, Promotion, Marketing, and Creative Design units. Tyler is responsible for strengthening the affinity for athletics through strong marketing and creative campaigns with responsibility for generating revenue through ticket sales, increasing attendance, and creating remarkable experiences for fans and student-athletes. He serves as a member of the department’s executive team assisting in providing strategic direction and oversight for the athletics department. Tyler was named to the National Association for Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) Board of Directors in 2016 helping to guide and shape the collegiate marketing nexus.
Prior to joining the staff at The Ohio State University in February 2013, Tyler served as the Head of Athletics Marketing at Eastern Michigan University, where he was a member of the executive leadership team from 2011-2013. In 2011, Tyler was a member of the University of Tennessee’s Athletics Marketing and Sales team. While in the SEC, Tyler grew his marketing and sales experience by leading marketing efforts for the storied Lady Vols Basketball program, led by legendary Coach Pat Summitt.
A Detroit, Michigan native, Tyler earned both his Bachelor and Master’s degrees from Eastern Michigan University as a duel sport student-athlete competing for both the Football and Men’s Basketball programs. While competing for the football program, Tyler set two NCAA records as a wide receiver in 2008. Tyler currently resides in Columbus.
