Summer is coming – it’s closer for some than others, but it’s almost here for everyone nonetheless. While summer is supposed to be a time to recharge the batteries, analyze last year and ease into the next, it’s anything but for most in college athletics. I often find myself busier in summer months then even some in-season months. There’s just never enough time for everything right?
In between putting together plans for season tickets, mini plans, individual tickets, marketing, promotions, other revenue areas, as well as projections for operational budgets and an administrative staffing plan, there has to be some downtime right? We are also hosting a national Runner’s World event, will be undergoing significant construction, and will have a number of camps and orientation events on our campus.
So while most of our student-athletes will head home in about a month, we’ll be hard at work to make 2016-17 the best season ever for our student-athletes.
What goals do you have for this summer professionally and personally? How do those two areas intersect? Hurry up and get that planning going because August 10 (football reporting date) will be here before I know it.
Good luck to everyone this spring and have a great summer! Hope to see many in Dallas.
