Troy Athletics Marketing Graduate Assistant

Troy University Athletics is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a Graduate Assistant within the Marketing Department. The responsibilities below provide a general guideline of expectations; specific duties will be assigned based on the selected candidate’s background.

Start Date: Summer 2026 semester (anticipated May 2026)


Job Duties

·         Assist the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement and the Senior Director of Revenue Marketing in developing, coordinating, and implementing marketing, promotional, and fan experience efforts for all sports and assigned events

·         Develop full-scale marketing plans and fan experience menus for assigned sports

·         Serve as the primary marketing contact for a mix of Soccer, Volleyball, Tennis, Softball, and Baseball

·         Meet directly with coaches and staff to plan and execute each team’s marketing strategy

·         Serve as the on-court director for Women’s or Men’s Basketball

·         Assist with managing PA announcers, music, videoboard elements, cheer squad, mascot, pep band, and other game presentation elements to enhance fan engagement

·         Oversee select special events including Fan Days, Season Ticket Holder events, on-campus student initiatives, Student Appreciation events, and more

·         Supervise a team of approximately 10–20 Marketing and Fan Engagement interns

·         Create an energetic home atmosphere through games, giveaways, contests, trivia, music, and new fan engagement ideas

·         Promote athletic events across campus and within the local community

·         Serve as lead for either T-Roy’s Pet Pals or T-Roy’s Kids Club, including membership initiatives and events

·         Assist in managing community outreach, mascot appearances, and cheer program engagements


Minimum Qualifications

·         Admission to a Troy University graduate program (must be accepted to accept the position)

·         Bachelor’s degree

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

·         Strong customer service skills

·         Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and effective time management

·         Ability to multitask and stay organized in a high-energy, fast-paced environment

·         Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

·         Ability to work nights and weekends


Preferred Qualifications

·         Previous experience (student worker, internship, or volunteer) in the sports industry

·         Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

·         Background in collegiate/professional sports and/or marketing
