Have You Thought About That Yet? #NACMALiveChat

The NACMA YP committee is excited to kick off the fall with the first NACMA Young Professional’s Live Chat of the year, this Wednesday, September 7th at 1 pm (ET).  Join Lauren Taylor, Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing at the University of Maryland, as well as Kelly Marcolini, Assistant Director of Marketing at Duke University and Austin Anderson, Fan Experience and Sales Coordinator at Kansas State as they give an inside look as to what is on their “do to” and checklists, which will hopefully get you to think about what’s on yours.

With September here, and fall sports in full swing, our lives as athletic marketers have gone from “summer slowdown” to “fall freak out” overnight and the last thing we want to see is what’s on our lengthy “to do” and checklists.  Lauren, Kelly and Austin plan to walk you through theirs, and hope to spark new ideas on how to make your job a little easier as well as take your ticket sales and gameday experiences to the next level.  They will discuss campus relationships, graphics, music and video templates as well as executing sponsorship elements and gameday staffing.

Venture into that dark and dusty marketing closet and inventory what you have for this upcoming year as well as add to your “to do” list items you still might need to order.  Needless to say, before you know it, October will be here, and you know what that means, balancing all of your fall sports with the addition of basketball, hockey, and all of your other winter sports added to your plate.  Be sure to look ahead and start planning out your winter sales and advertising calendars and do not look past scheduling halftime acts and creating promotional nights.  In the very far distances baseball and all of your spring events are faintly knocking at your door.

One of the most important bullets on your list that usually gets pushed to the way side is intern staffing and training, which in all honesty is one of the most important, especially when it comes to the elevating your gameday experience and pushing it to the next level.  Lauren, Kelly and Austin will touch on creating a guidebook and orientation seminar for those new members on your team who truly can make or break your fan experience.

The NACMA YP committee would like to welcome and encourage all members of the NACMA community to join us this Wednesday, September 7th at 1 pm (EST) for the first Live Chat of the year, “Have You Though About That Yet?”.   Register by clicking here. #NACMAYP #NACMALiveChat
